How to Create Chewy and Legit Three-Color Cenil

Ingredients :
  • 500 grams of starch
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 200 ml pandan leaf water
  • 1 drop of red dye
  • 1 drop yellow coloring
  • 1 drop of green coloring
  • 1/4 teaspoon strawberry essence (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon pandan essence (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon durian essence (adjust to taste)

Sprinkling Ingredients:
  • 1/2 young coconut, grated lengthwise/according to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
How to Make Cenil Three Chewy and Legit Colors:
  1. Combine the starch with salt and 100 ml of pandan leaf water, stir until blended. Cook the mixture until it boils and thickens, then remove from heat. Add the remaining starch little by little, stir until smooth, and let stand until the dough cools down.
  2. Divide the dough that has been formed into three equal parts, give each part of the dough with green, yellow and red food coloring. Knead each dough until smooth, then make a round shape from each dough.
  3. Cook 100 ml of pandan leaf water until it boils, then add the cenil dough circles that have been formed earlier, cook until the cenil circle dough floats. Remove the floating cenil and drain.
  4. Make the topping material: Steam the grated coconut, then remove it if the sauce is enough, then mix it with salt. Next, the drained cenil is rolled into a mixture of grated coconut that has been steamed until evenly distributed. Serve Cenil sprinkled with sugar.
